Tunstall Healthcare Awarded BAFE Certification

Leading telehealthcare provider achieves BAFE recognition for the maintenance of fire detection, alarm and suppression systems.

Tunstall Healthcare, the leading provider of telecare and telehealth solutions, has been awarded the British Approvals for Fire Equipment (BAFE) certification following assessment by the British Standards Institution (BSI). The award acknowledges the company's continued high-quality service to customers during the maintenance of fire detection, alarm and suppression systems.

BAFE is the independent registration body dedicated to improving standards in fire protection, and provides a single registration scheme for each fire safety product or service. Recognised by Government, Statutory Bodies, Fire and Rescue Services, Insurers and the Health and Safety Executive, BAFE certification demonstrates competency in the maintenance, inspection and administration of customers' fire alarm systems.

The certification acknowledges Tunstall's proficiency and continued high standards in service and maintenance, and provides customers with added reassurance that checks are being carried out in full compliance to the BAFE scheme.

Kevin Roberts, Service Director for Tunstall said: "Gaining BAFE certification underlines the company's commitment to delivering a high-quality service, and gives our customers the confidence to know that the best in fire maintenance is being provided. Building owners and landlords now have a duty of care to protect people against the risk of fire, and by using BAFE registered firms like Tunstall they can successfully show that this obligation has been fulfilled.

"The certification means that our engineers can now issue BAFE certificates on completion of fire maintenance checks, assuring customers that the work has been carried out using best practice procedures in line with BAFE."

The BAFE assessment involved onsite service technician audits and a review of the company's quality management procedures and processes. Tunstall's engineers were assessed by the British Standards Institution (BSI), who evaluated how the company administered, managed and maintained customer contracts, as well as how it handled different types of deployments.

Businesses with BAFE certification undertake ongoing assessments and are audited annually to ensure the same high standards are sustained.
