HeiTel: CamControl MV optimises Video Surveillance of Foyer Areas
The latest version of the HeiTel video-wall software CamControl MV (MultiView) offers visual and audible signalling of video motion alarms in a separate motion event monitor. A detailed list of events and all relevant video sequences, like pre-alarm images, live video images and alarm images are displayed in this motion event monitor. This feature is particularly interesting for the monitoring of bank foyers and generally for all applications in which the entrance and exit areas are monitored, e.g. casinos, hotels, retail shops, company buildings. To support all functions you have to install the latest receiver software and the latest HeiTel device firmware.
The cost-free upgrade is available in the HeiTel Partner Forum.
A demo version of CamControl MV is available on www.heitel.com.

CBC’s ViMS IP system draws IFSEC buyers’ interest
Leading surveillance solutions provider CBC (Europe) reports strong interest from IFSEC visitors to its stand this year, who viewed the latest Ganz Solutions ViMS IP video and alarm management system. This one-box plug-and-play IP solution is modular and scalable, with an independent open-architecture platform that addresses real security and business issues.
“We’ve been absolutely delighted with the reception that ViMS has received,” declares Santosh Muniswamappa, CBC’s Commercial Head – IP Surveillance Solutions. “We spent four very busy days explaining the multiple operational benefits that ViMS offers to a wide range of users – from the corner shop, to multi-site locations.”
Santosh explains that the ViMS Suite can be used in ‘enterprise class’ applications through its Command product, or smaller scale surveillance systems via the Accendo one-box plug-and-play IP unit – for viewing, recording and management of up to 16 IP video channels. Some of the core features to both Command and Accendo include broadcast quality video, low bandwidth transmission of video, a 24/7 rated server and storage units, and a simple easy-to-use remote web-based user interface...

IndigoVision keeps traffic flowing on Athens ring road
The Attika Tollway, a major ring road around Athens, has benefited from a new generation video surveillance system supplied by IndigoVision, working with its local partner ILKA and a project management team from Attiki Odos.
The 65km Attika Tollway is a key communications route that can face acute traffic congestion, and is unique within Europe in that it forms a closed tollway within a metropolitan capital. The new surveillance system is a critical part of the road operator’s ability to keep traffic flowing smoothly and to meet a service level agreement to respond to any incident on the tollway within five minutes. The new installation has led to vastly improved image quality and faster image review, unifying diverse systems and creating, for the first time, an unlimited and expandable multi-user system.
Before the upgrade, system operators were managing with a mixture of several non-unified systems. However, t he age of the previous system meant that image quality was poor, the system was not expandable and it had reached its limit in the number of system operators working at the same time. There was no unified recording system for all types of camera; in some cases reviewing of recordings was slow. All of this was putting increasing pressure on the Attika Tollway team as they worked to meet their demanding service standard in one of the busiest traffic locations in Europe...
