Chiron releases animated guides for IP alarm installers and users Encouraging security installers and system designers to explore the advantages of IP-alarms technology, Chiron Security Communications (CSC) has launched a series of animated guides explaining some of the key technical considerations. The new guides are a unique educational tool for the IP alarms sector and they cover key topics from installation and signal strength considerations, to troubleshooting – (for example, for the installation guide see http://www.chironsc.com/installation_anim.html). Other topics will be covered in future releases “These new animated guides are a first for the industry,” says Ian Tredinnick, Chiron’s Managing Director. “They have been developed as part of our ongoing commitment to help installers and end-users understand IP-alarms technology,” The release of the new guides forms part of a wider development programme for the company’s website which now features a wide range of useful resources for both end-users and installers. These include an interactive guide to IP in security as well as downloadable PDFs in three languages. The site also carries the latest information on the important issue of product compliance, following last month’s announcement that Chiron has become the only company to achieve independent, Europe-wide VdS verification and accreditation with its best selling IRIS and IRIS Touch range of IP diallers. Confirmation of the coveted VdS approvals – which is the benchmark standard most widely recognised across Europe - represents a major step forward for system users and installers looking to take advantage of IP alarm technology. The IRIS systems, with their flexibility to cover all applications, from the largest monitoring centres down to the smallest monitoring sites, as well as their acceptance by insurers, have rapidly become the IP alarms market leaders. They now have over 20,000 users across Europe and are supported by nearly 100 monitoring centres. Their advantages include faster alerting, cheaper line monitoring, a range of value-added services such as visual verification of alarm alerts and building management system monitoring, plus improved network resilience.
