FREESPACE NETWORKS EXPANDS BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT TEAM

Amu Koria has joined wireless data transmission specialists FreeSpace Networks as Business Development Manager. He has niche knowledge of wireless bridging and will be helping FreeSpace to win contracts in the local authority, healthcare, police and education sectors with a focus on the north-west of England, Scotland and the Scottish Borders.

Amu has varied experience in electronics having begun working for Ferranti Computer Systems as an industrial engineering manager and progressing to project manager before a move to Tyco Fire and Gas where he steered offshore projects in the Middle East.

Amu said: “The new role will allow me to combine my engineering and project management skills. My track record in this sector means that I have insight into tendering processes and can reconcile the commercial objectives of clients with FreeSpace’ s commitment to engineering excellence.”

He continued: “The appointment has made me part of a young, dynamic and forward-thinking company in which a ‘can-do’ attitude has been adopted throughout, from the shop floor through to the board room. It’s really rewarding to be part of this winning team.”

Amu has particular interest in resource management and delivery criteria as well as understanding of the wireless transmission market gained from working with Wavesight (part of the Jaltek Group) where he was sales manager for the north of England.

He is married to Manjula and they have three children, two daughters who have recently graduated from university and a son of school age. A sports fanatic, he lives in Stalybridge to the east of Manchester. Amu will never refuse a game of squash and can be seen regularly at golf courses in Denton and Cheadle where he is a keen but high-handicap player.
