CBC’s surveillance solutions for enhanced policing

Leading surveillance solutions provider CBC (Europe) will be demonstrating its comprehensive range of specialist, high performance surveillance equipment on stand B35 at the two-day APA-ACPO 2010 international policing exhibition in Manchester, running from 30 th June-1 st July.

CBC’s complementary line-up of Computar-branded camera lenses and Ganz electronic products includes pan/tilt/zoom (PTZ) and dome cameras, digital recording systems and the latest IPCCTV range – VSoIP. CBC will be demonstrating ground-breaking systems including Radar Vision, which offers unrivalled long-range detection capability by tracking and verifying intruders at distances up to 800 metres. Radar Vision provides all-round site security using multiple, integrated technologies and offers 360° coverage, with the ability to provide images in fog, mist, rain and snow conditions.

Radar Vision also complements CBC’s C-AllView range of ruggedised PTZ cameras, including the popular Thermal Vision dual optical/thermal camera – allowing individuals and vehicles to be tracked and recorded in almost all weather and lighting conditions up to 2km away. Other CBC products on show at APA-ACPO 2010 will include CBC’s Video Analytics systems, for applications including sterile zone monitoring, intrusion detection, directional analysis, traffic analysis, behaviour analysis and a range of other realistic situations.

All of the above technology can be managed by CBC’s Ganz VSoIP software suite – thereby allowing ‘legacy’ CCTV equipment to be integrated seamlessly with the latest IP/digital CCTV devices. The integration of IP video alongside powerful video analytics provides exceptional performance and situational awareness for daily surveillance purposes.

Meanwhile, CBC’s newly introduced Thru Vision cameras are engineered to sharpen and increase visibility in conditions where fog, haze, smog, sand or rain can adversely affect images from traditional CCTV cameras. They use the company’s pioneering ‘MIST’ technology to focus through obstacles present in the atmosphere that can obstruct or deteriorate video image quality. By digitally adjusting colour and contrast, the poor quality images caused by these environmental factors are automatically corrected in real-time to provide clear, high quality video pictures.

“We’re looking forward to meeting new customers at APA-ACPO, as it’s the largest the UK’s biggest and most influential event targeted at anyone involved in policing and security,” says CBC’s National Sales & Marketing Manager John Downie. “Our surveillance systems are designed and tested to cost-effectively meet requirements ranging from straightforward camera monitoring and recording right the way through to sophisticated software-based tracking of people and vehicles for policing needs.”
