Intruders caught completely unawares

When thieves recently broke into the Leeds premises of one of Tag Guard’s clients, they probably thought nothing of the innocuous looking square boxes left on the floor, with no cables attached. Little did they realise these were Tag Guard wireless IR movement sensing detectors – they had been removed from their correct wall mounted location and left on the floor in preparation for decorating work.

These and other wireless detectors that were still in position tracked the thieves’ entry and every movement around the warehouse building. The sensors alerted Tag Guard’s 24-hour remote monitoring centre where Tag Guard staff in turn alerted their local mobile security patrol partner – and the thieves were caught “red handed”.

Richard Lang, Managing Director of Tag Guard Ltd, commented, “This breakin proved a good demonstration of the integrity of our wireless systems – even when not fixed in their correct position the movement detectors worked perfectly.

“With no cables attached and left lying on the warehouse floor, the thieves no doubt completely ignored them – not suspecting they were active and working in tandem with other wireless detectors around the building”.
