Samsung launch compact 12x optical zoom internal speed dome

The latest addition to the Samsung professional security camera range is a competitively priced 12x fully functional optical zoom internal speed dome offering full 360 degree continuous rotation.

Utilising Samsung’s W-V DSP chipset, the SCP-2120 is able to deliver very high quality colour images at 580TV lines and equally impressive 680TV lines monochrome images in low light conditions.

The SCP-2120, which is a true day/night camera with a removable infrared cut filter, is equipped with a long list of features which include eight motion detection zones, twelve privacy masking zones and a fourteen language on-screen display menu.

Samsung Super Noise Reduction (SSNRIII) technology equips the SCP-2120 to eliminate image noise in low-light conditions without creating ghosting or blurring and with the additional benefit of up to a 70% reduction in bandwidth requirements or video storage space compared to standard cameras.

In addition to a 12x optical zoom, the SCP-2120 has a 16x digital zoom capability allowing a total of 192x magnification to capture clear images of far away objects.

The SCP-2120 can be remotely controlled by Samsung DVRs and keyboards although multiple RS-485 protocols and coaxial control compatibility allows third-party equipment to take control. A ‘Scheduler’ functions allows the pre-programming of up to six separate timed actions each day, reducing the workload of operators to perform functions such as alternating between a dome ‘tour’ during the night and a preset position during the day.
