New course developed due to demand from trainers

Skills for Security is pleased to announce the accreditation of a new Security Manager (Head Door Supervision) Course for trainers, developed by Rutherford Training Group.

This course has been created for trainers who wish to deliver Rutherford’s Level 3 Security Management (Head Door Supervision) to delegates. The four day programme consists of three key phases; a distance learning phase, a two day course where delegates gain the Level 3 Head Door Supervision award (unless they have already attended this programme) and a two day teaching workshop to develop the tutor’s knowledge of the material and delivery of the key learning techniques.

Ian Rutherford, Director of Business Development at Rutherford Training comments, ‘We produced the trainer’s course due to the demand that we received from delegates who attended our Level 3 Security Management (Head Door Supervision) course, that was accredited by Skills for Security earlier this year. The delegates who attended this course realised how crucial the Head Door Supervisors role is to their organisations and wished to impart their knowledge onto the rest of their staff and so we developed a comprehensive training course to ensure that this knowledge is professionally delivered by qualified trainers.”

The Head Door Supervisor has a complex and demanding role to play in the safety and security of both their customers and staff. It is vital that they have the right skills, knowledge and training to fulfil this role. This course is not only of benefit to the individual’s own career development but is also important for employers, as the training can improve security team management which results in a reduction of potential issues/complaints.

Jayne Sale , Customer Services Manager at Skills for Security stated, “It is great to see that the industry are supportive towards further training and also that Rutherford Training have listened to the requests and have taken steps to provide a course that fits the industry’s requirements. Training is crucial despite the current economic concerns and this course provides employers with a cost-effective method of training their staff. Rutherford are also making a special allowance for delegates who have already completed the Rutherford Training Head Doors Supervisors Course, as they will only need to attend 2 days of the 4 day course and will therefore have a reduced booking fee.”
