Chiron’s VdS-certified IP alarm technology benefits retail customers
Chiron’s market-leading IRIS Touch alarms-over-IP technology has been adopted by yet another alarm receiving centre (ARC), pushing Chiron’s installations among ARCs across Europe and Scandinavia towards the 200 mark.
The latest monitoring centre to specify IRIS – Europe’s best selling IP alarm transmission and monitoring system – is Germany’s Protego 24, a brand new modern facility specialising in retail customer alarm connections. Situated in Nord Rhein Westphalen, the most westerly, populous and economically powerful state in Germany, Protego 24 is already taking advantage of Chiron Security Communications’ VdS-certified IRIS Touch benefits.
These include making IP technology available to both new and legacy alarm systems, with operational gains such as dual path backup over GPRS, GSM or even SMS. IRIS Touch has been designed to be comprehensive, offering a model to meet any security requirements. The system recently gained top-level VdS approval by achieving certification to the German requirement, which is seen as the gold standard for product testing in key European markets including Germany, Austria, Switzerland and the Nordic countries.
Chiron’s Business Development Manager, Wim Harthoorn, reports that Protego 24 is also making use of Chiron’s newly launched IRIS Secure Apps system, an important advance in the way monitoring centres handle alarm signalling. Secure Apps delivers new benefits to monitoring centres by giving them information not previously available, allowing greater control over their networks and adding greater value for their customers. Ease-of-use is improved for the ARC, with a new intuitive operator interface that allows in-depth access to all aspects of the secure alarm signal, with more information and tighter control.
"Protego 24 is a prestigious new client for Chiron and we’re confident that this partnership will be an enabler for German retailers to reap the fruits of using IRIS Touch," Mr Harthoorn adds. "The system makes full use of all the advantages that IP brings to security communication, right the way through from remote troubleshooting to CCTV control and communications resilience."
