ARINC EMEA offers AIM solution to protect Nuclear Power Stations

ARINC EMEA is offering its AIM Integrated Physical Security offering to protect nuclear power stations at the Nuclear New Build Conference, London, from 2-3 March.   ARINC EMEA’s offering is centred on its Advanced Information Management (AIM) solution, a flexible command and control integration platform that currently protects over 60% of US nuclear power stations as well as the US Strategic Petroleum Reserve.   ARINC is also one of the largest providers of integrated command & control solutions (C2) to US railways.

Andy Nicholson, Government & Physical Security Business Development Director, ARINC EMEA says, “AIM delivers a new level of Resiliency, Scalability, Flexibility and Redundancy to integrated physical security systems.  With this solution ARINC EMEA has a powerful offering to protect new build nuclear power stations, combined with over 25 years experience in delivering integrated security systems, in depth expertise of the nuclear sector and our regional presence headquartered in the UK.

AIM is a market leader in providing controlled access, command and control for any where that real-time situational awareness is required for the safety and security of personnel, passengers, and facilities.   AIM acts as the solid platform, or the “glue” on which to integrate sub systems and applications into a central management system to provide one seamless solution to the end user. These sub systems could include perimeter security, access control, public address, command and control, CCTV, personnel and vehicle ID management.

AIM is totally scalable, which enables the monitoring and control of security operations to be incorporated across single or multiple networks within one or even several facilities. The command-and-control application provides sophisticated monitoring of all subsystem activities and alarms, and presents operators with a common operational picture of their facility. AIM capabilities can also be extended to hand held devices and small-footprint tablet PCs, enabling first responders to receive video and data for real-time decision making on the front lines.

AIM has built-in redundancy for servers, peripheral equipment and field I/O devices and is a high-availability system, which means AIM enables stand-alone automated operation of critical functions if the main system server fails or communication with the host server is lost.  The unique resiliency feature is based on the vast knowledge ARINC has gained in the transportation sector.

ARINC can also overlay IP solutions onto existing/new networks. This can protect investment in previous technology solutions and also allow for the integration of Legacy products into a Hybrid Solution. It also has a unique ability to create communications gateways allowing for voice interoperability and mass notification. This creates major benefits when Security, Police, Fire and Military need to communicate to deal with major situations.

AIM’s flexibility enables customers to leverage investments in legacy systems, easily integrating legacy devices, software, and networks while also providing certified interfaces to a multitude of advanced technologies.

ARINC Inc, a portfolio company of The Carlyle Group, provides communications, engineering and integration solutions for commercial, defence and government customers worldwide.  Headquartered in Annapolis, Maryland, it has regional offices in London and Singapore.
