Samsung have added two new HD megapixel models with built-in IR LEDs to its network vandal-resistant dome camera range. The SNV-5080R incorporates a 1.3 megapixel camera with a motorised varifocal lens and, with its 15 built-in IR LEDs, is able to capture up to 1280 x 1024 (4:3 format) and HD 720p (16:9 format) images of objects up to 15 metres even in zero light. |

Whilst initially the move to IP CCTV may have been a slow one, today, given the realisation of the practical, and economic benefits on the ground, it has become very much the norm for surveillance with the roll-out of ever more ambitious, intelligent, scalable and powerful solutions. For a Dublin, Ireland property, GVD Security, a value-added distributor designed the solution with a mix of IQinVision HD megapixel cameras utilizing both IQeye Alliance dome and Sentinel models to provide full-scale surveillance of the extensive property and residence. A Milestone NVR platform manages all the camera data. Both GVD and the end user were attracted to the IQeye cameras because of their unique ability to run Viasys intelligent video analytics on board the camera, eliminating the need for unsightly, physical passive infrared sensors (PIRs). The Viasys software triggers alerts to a remote monitoring center watching over the property. In addition to standard surveillance and video analytics, the outdoor IQeye Sentinels are used to capture license plate information as well. In short order, the system is already getting results. |

The SNV-5080R and SNV-7080R are able to deliverhigh definition images during both daylight hours and in pitch-black darkness, making them suitable for a wide range of applications requiring effective 24-hour surveillance, including car parks, industrial estates, petrol forecourts, schools, hospitals, retail parks, airports and ports.
When it comes to video surveillance there is little doubt that the transition from stand-alone solutions to a reliance on IP-based networked infrastructure has facilitated a major step change in the way that CCTV systems are designed, installed and managed. One of the key practical gains that IP CCTV offers is, undoubtedly, the ability for sites, whatever their size, to see the 'bigger picture' for the security and safety of their operations by readily integrating disparate CCTV elements across a specific location or, even, from multiple locations. But the benefits to be gained through moving to IP Video are not just those of scalability; HD (high definition) video, could not be achieved historically through the use of analogue cameras, and in many cases, standard definition IP video systems did not offer a sufficiently strong tangible benefit over their more successful, low light sensitive CCD based analogue counterparts - in order to stimulate a switch in technology.
The new cameras are available in the following formats; bodied cameras, mini domes, IR bullet style and vandal resistant domes. 
The Dinion HD 1080p Day/Night IP camera delivers uncompromising vision even in busy, colourful scenes. 1080p is equivalent to 2 megapixels, conforming to the HD standard. The entire advanced image pipeline, from lens to image processing, ensures images stay sharp throughout the scene. This allows reliable identification of faces, objects and alphanumeric information over a wide area. Operators can zoom in to any part of a scene to examine specific details without losing clarity.
