Dornbracht presents Supernova: A fixture like a precision-worked crystal

At the recent ISH Exhibition Dornbracht showed their new lifestyle-oriented series in the form of Supernova.

They say Supernova is a fixture of high sculptural quality which, with its many facets and polygonal surfaces is reminiscent of precision-worked crystal. The name of the fixture cites the supernova, as the fast, extremely bright flashing of a star during its explosion. With Supernova, this glow is shown in multifaceted ever new reflections of its environment.

“With Supernova, we are continuing the series of design innovations of the past two decades”, says the CEO Andreas Dornbracht. “Supernova represents a cultivated, progressive, unique design. The fixture plays with the light and the refraction and thus always reflects the surroundings, including their objects and colours, in a new way.”

The product range comprises around 60 products – which in addition to single-lever taps and three-hole taps also includes two waterfall taps: for wall mounting and also for the first time at Dornbracht, free-standing. The range is complemented by comprehensive accessories.

Dornbracht say that two pieces of additional technical equipment are also celebrating their premiere with Supernova:

For the first time, a new cartridge has been used for the fixtures for the bidet and guest WC. It's function: If the tap handle is opened clockwise, the cartridge first opens the coldwater flow. Only when the tap is turned further, does mixing with hot water take place. Thanks to this process, say the manufacturers, the water can be controlled particularly comfortably and at the same time, energy is saved. The free movement of the cartridge also makes it easy to operate.

In the Supernova waterfall taps, a plastic insert is used for the first time. The manufacturer says this makes possible optimal flow conditions and thus an equal, full stream. Lime deposits can be easily removed.

As a further technical detail, the new air jet made of plastic is used, which is already part of the Tara.

It improves the spray and radiance of the water and reduces noises – with simultaneously less water consumption.

Supernova is available for all areas of application (washbasin, bathtub, shower, bidet) – with the option of lever handles or handles in cube form.
