New appointments for KBSA
The Kitchen Bathroom Bedroom Specialists Association has appointed two new officers at the AGM which was held on Thursday 16th September at the Heritage Motor Centre, Gaydon.
Martin Thomas has taken on the role of chairman of the general committee and Simon Acres was confirmed as corporate vice chair.
Martin Thomas brings a wealth of experience to the chair as he has been involved with the KBSA for 25 years. During this time he has held the position of national chair and been active on the board on three occasions, most recently as Scotland’s Regional Chair.
Martin’s career began in Northern Ireland and he has spent the last 8 years in Aberdeen as a director of Denmore Kitchens and Bathrooms. Since moving to Aberdeen, he has concentrated his efforts on the bathroom side of the business, offering innovative designs with leading products from the likes of Laufen, Vitra, Matki, Utopia and Svedbergs.
Simon Acres has been acting corporate vice chair for the past two months, working closely with corporate chair Malcolm Scott to develop and enhance the role of the manufacturing and supply corporate members of the KBSA.
Simon is sales director at Omega PLC, a brand leader in the design, manufacture and marketing of high quality fitted kitchens and furniture, supplied to kitchen specialist outlets across the UK. Simon’s previous experience includes five years at the PJH Group, a national distributor of kitchen and bathroom products.
KBSA CEO Graham Ball said: “The KBSA will benefit greatly from these two new appointments. They bring a wealth of experience of how the industry operates, an understanding of the needs of retailers and manufacturers and plenty of enthusiasm for the challenges that lie ahead.”
