| Utopia's Liz Green to retire

After 23 years as a well-known figure in the bathroom industry, Liz Green, founding director of Utopia Bathroom Group Ltd, is to retire.
Simon Russell, CEO, Utopia Bathroom Group Ltd, announced the retirement during a celebratory dinner prior to the company’s Spring 2011 product launch. Paying tribute to Liz, Simon said,
“To call Liz a driving force both in the industry and at Utopia would be an understatement and I think everyone would agree that ‘whirlwind’ would be far more appropriate! Joking apart, we owe Liz a huge debt. Her enthusiasm, commitment, sheer common sense and unique way of doing business has endeared her to everyone and we will miss her terribly. Not that Liz is severing her links with Utopia entirely, we are happy to report that she will continue to be involved albeit in a much reduced capacity.”
Liz, along with brother Ian Hall and business partner Dave Conn, founded Utopia in 1989, and since that time Liz has fulfilled a number of key roles within the company, most recently as Customer Service Director. Responding to Simon Russell’s comments, Liz said, “I learnt very early on that a successful business really is all about people, those individuals who collectively make it great, and I genuinely consider myself very lucky to have worked alongside colleagues and customers whom I believe to be amongst the very best in our industry. l will always be grateful for everyone’s support over the years and will treasure the friendships I’ve made."
