GOING FOR GROWTH

Despite all the prophesies of doom and gloom which abound, there are those who do not let such negatives get in the way of progress.

Impulse Bathrooms has chosen a time when many are finding life difficult in the bathroom industry to expand, both to meet current need and to lay the foundations for a general economic recovery - whenever that may be.

As a first step they have appointed two new sales people. Stewart Tilling will cover the West Midlands and west of England through to Cumbria and Stephen Hill will look after the North East and East Midlands, The South, Scotland , Ireland and existing North West clients will continue to be covered by Gerry Bond and his Sales Agent team.

Stewart Tilling has worked in several roles in the bathroom industry including starting on the trade counter of a plumbers merchant before joining Bathroom City on the sales side, Porcelanosa in the merchandising section and Smiths Bathroom Distribution. He is now looking forward to life with a manufacturer and sees a great opportunity for Impulse Bathrooms to significantly widen its presence in merchant and retail outlets.

Stephen Hill has over 25 years experience in bathrooms, having been an area and account manager for H&R Johnson and an Armitage Shanks regional sales manager before establishing a successful specialist brassware company. He also sees Impulse Bathrooms as a rapidly emerging relatively new force in the industry.

Both their roles will include expanding Impulse Bathrooms penetration in new markets such as social housing and new build as well as developing existing market sectors.

Impulse Bathrooms is also currently looking at new, larger premises to provide much needed additional warehousing and office space together with a showroom to display their bathroom products to customers.

“This is all part of our strategy for growth” says Imperial Bathrooms UK General Manager Gary Hawkins. “We are building a stronger brand presence as befits a major global brand. The group sees the UK as a key market and is investing heavily in the future. As well as extra staff and larger premises, we also have a raft of new products under development for the retail sector. Quite honestly, we expect a number of brands to fail to survive the credit crunch and we then look forward to a more stable marketplace where nonsensical and unsustainable price cutting is no longer the order of the day.”

Impulse Bathrooms has already expanded considerably over the last few years. It is now a complete bathroom manufacturer since adding baths and brassware to its ceramic ranges. The bathroom suite range includes products for all styles and budgets in both contemporary and traditional styles. There are rounded styles, square styles, half moon shapes - and most have multiple options. There are 25 WC’s, including wall hung, back-to-wall, close coupled and close coupled back-to-wall, and basin options including vessel, semi-recessed, recessed and semi-pedestal versions.

There is a range of WC’s available with water saving 4.5/3 litre dual flush operation, six different brassware ranges and a selection of modern style baths, all carrying the Impulse Bathrooms guarantee.
