Induction hob with continuum zone

As a pioneer of groundbreaking technologies, the De Dietrich name is synonymous with beauty and innovation. Creating kitchen appliances aimed at a premium audience, De Dietrich continues to be at the forefront of futuristic concepts in cooking, cooling and washing. The new collection of energy efficient contemporary products is truly ahead of its time, and designed using the quality and expertise that exemplifies the De Dietrich brand.

The 93cm DTi1089V is a slimline (41cm) extra-wide linear induction hob with a stylish bevelled edge and features touch sensitive controls with 15 power levels and three direct access levels. Featuring minimalist serigraphy with a glass bevelled edge there are two induction zones (16cm and 23cm) plus a Continuum zone – the largest and most powerful induction cooking zone on the market. This can be split into two temperature zones for different heat levels or activated as a single zone for larger cookware. Together with the smart Boost function on all zones, there are three direct access levels, 99 minute timers, a power tracker and elapsed time indicators.

Induction cooking was developed by De Dietrich for consumer use, and works using a simple principle: when a suitable pan is placed on the cooking zone, magnetic coil inductors beneath the ceramic glass surface react at the touch of the controls to instantaneously conduct heat directly through the pan. This means there is negligible heat loss, so the hob is economical as it uses the least electricity, making it environmentally-friendly. It is super fast, as the heat is direct and immediate - double the speed of gas. It is totally controllable, as each adjustable power level is precise every time the hob is used. It is super safe, as the surrounding glass surface does not heat up; therefore any splashes from the pan never burn on to the hob. It is also supremely easy to clean, just with a wipe down with a damp cloth and some hob cleaner, if necessary.

As a result of the amazing adjustability provided by induction, the lowest 50W power level on this hob is so low that melting chocolate can be performed without using a bain marie, and the highest power level can sear meats in a matter of seconds.

The Continuum zone offers the ability for the first time on an induction hob to cook using a large casserole or fish kettle. By simply pressing the two single independent touch controls simultaneously, the specified left hand zones become one large 41cm cooking area which incorporates myriad inductors and creates the most powerful single zone ever, at 4.6 kW. However, the optimum electricity will only ever be conducted, whatever the size or shape of the pan, so the hob remains economical to use at all times.

The Boost function will instantaneously heat to the highest power level, all at the single touch of the controls.

All De Dietrich induction models in the new range feature precision touch controls with 15 power levels plus direct access to the three most commonly used power levels. To the left of the hob they highlight the choice of zones and to the right of the hob they suggest programmes and power levels. Each zone also features a 99 minute timer, so each zone can be set in advance to switch off at the same instance.

As many recipes taste far better when cooked in advance, the Start Control function on this hob allows the ability to set the power level, start and end of cooking time in advance, to simmer or reheat casseroles or stews so they are ready when required. This means that food can be prepared for when you return from work, or a day out, with no need to wait.

Should the pan need to be moved, from front to back, for example, a unique ‘power tracker’ will follow the pans’ movement so the temperature will remain constant, wherever it is situated. It can then be controlled as normal in its new position.

A further ‘time elapsed’ indicator will identify the time each pan has spent cooking on the hob. This is extremely useful if a number of pans are being heated on the hob simultaneously, and different cooking times are required for perfect results.

As with all De Dietrich induction hobs, this model features ten separate safety features, making it not only the safest hob, but the safest induction hob on the market.
