Sylmar at Grand Designs

Sylmar Technology, manufacturer and supplier to the kitchen trade of the maia solid surface worktops, has announced its participation at one of the UK ’s leading interiors events, Grand Designs Birmingham 2009. The company’s decision to attend was inspired by a desire to help its kitchen dealers by exposing style conscious consumers and home improvers to the product which offers the owner a host of benefits including affordability, durability and the injection of a luxury look and feel to any kitchen.

Practical (maia worksurfaces are non-porous and come with a care kit that enables their pristine qualities to be maintained for years to come) and aesthetically superior to laminate worksurfaces, maia is manufactured and finished by hand using a specially formulated acrylic sheet. The range owes much of its popularity to its ability to bridge the gap between entry-level laminate worktops and the more expensive Granite or Corian options. The price advantage is further enhanced by the ease of installation – maia can be installed by kitchen fitters without the need for specialist equipment or templating.

Some of the recently introduced décor options will be on display for the first time; ‘Galaxy’, ‘Mocha’, ‘Iceberg’ and ‘Latte’ are the result of extensive research into what kitchen designers and homeowners desire, and catering to the very latest interior design trends. ‘Galaxy’ for instance was created in response to the continued popularity of black kitchen designs while ‘Mocha’ offers a softer alternative for those with a penchant for neutral colour palettes.
