Whirlpool's new built in fridge freezer

It is no exaggeration to say that the once humble and unattractive fridge has never had a more important role to play than it does now. Slick, stylish and packed with technological treats, it is not only expected to be durable and reliable but to also evolve with new and meaningful features.

With the launch of its new, ‘A+’ energy rated built-in ART 764 LCD combi fridge freezer, Whirlpool has once again hit the sweet spot in incorporating its core values into one highly impressive unit. Big on technology and design, the built-in ART 764 model also addresses those essential little features that sometimes get forgotten in the great rush to be the biggest and the best.

An excellent example is a great feature that immediately catches the eye in the form of the model’s innovative new internal Firefly lighting system. So many refrigeration products are criticised for poor lighting, which is so often focused on one or two specific areas. The new internal lighting system includes four intelligently sited LED’s that illuminate the fridge throughout to great advantage. The neat and compact Firefly lighting not only creates superb visibility throughout the fridge, the LED’s have a longer life span than a bulb and generate less heat.

Whirlpool’s ‘A+’ rated fridge freezers are among the most energy efficient cooling appliances on the market, and overall performance is given a further significant boost by the company’s renowned 6 th Sense® intelligent technology, which constantly monitors, adapts and controls the fridge’s performance. The patented technology detects temperature rises and sends chilled air to the affected area to restore the required temperature up to five times faster than a fridge without 6 th Sense® technology.

The capacious and versatile ART 764 offers a total net capacity of 263 litres, comprising of 198 litres for the fridge and 65 litres for the auto-defrost freezer. The generous storage space in the fridge includes four door balconies, one of which is specially designed for two-litre bottles. There are also five safety glass shelves, four of which are adjustable.

Ray Isted, Head of Training for Whirlpool, says: “The ART 764 is a further example of the Whirlpool philosophy of linking the latest technology with new and imaginative designs that also embrace meaningful features.

“The innovative Firefly lighting system alone rectifies the annoying problem of not being able to see produce clearly in certain areas of the fridge. This is one of a range of new products we are introducing this year, all of which are strong on design and features that are of genuine help to the consumer.

“Many more consumers are now spending greater time socialising and entertaining in the kitchen and therefore looking for products that offer quality and value and represent a long-term investment. We are committed to designing and developing such appliances that strengthen our branded market position with our consumers.”

The ART 764 is A+ rated for energy efficiency with auto-defrost with longer four door balconies including 2-litre bottle balcony; it also boasts a low noise level of 36dB(A) with a total net capacity of 263 litres.
