Kitchenaid's new Chef Touch

Premium manufacturer KitchenAid has launched the Chef Touch, a new Sous Vide cooking system that brings the top quality cooking of the world’s finest restaurants to the domestic kitchen.

The visually stunning Chef Touch is three first class products finished in KitchenAid’s Pro Design aesthetic. The system comprises of the vacuum-sealing system which preserves food by packing the food in an airless environment; the steam-assist oven for gently cooking or perfectly re-heating food; and the shock freezer for rapid chilling or long-term deep freezing.

Sous Vide cooking is a delicate, high quality, low temperature cooking method that affords culinary creativity. Chef Touch offers the important benefits both for the cooking and the conservation of food. The secret of Sous Vide cooking is that it maintains the organoleptic properties of the food, vacuum-sealing them in special pouches creating an airless environment. This extends the life of the food by up to three times – the oxygen free environment drastically reduces the growth of bacteria and the effects of oxidation. The absence of air, the sealed pouch and the low temperature steam cooking ensures that the essential flavours, aromas and texture are retained by the food. Several items can be cooked in the oven at once, each in their own separate airtight pouch.

Caroline Guillermard, Product Marketing Manager, Premium, for KitchenAid, says: “The KitchenAid Chef Touch cooking system allows the cooking and preservation of foods in a way that respects their flavour and texture to ensure professional results in the home. This method is ideal for low-fat enthusiasts, as the flavours are intense and are prepared without the addition of fat or condiments. This is a superb, three-in-one premium product that genuinely takes domestic cooking to a new and exciting level.”
