New Laser Edge invitation

REHAU is inviting visitors to the W10 exhibition to attend a presentation and live demonstration of its new Laser Edge edgebanding technology on Tuesday, 5 October at 1.30.

The event, which will begin in Suite 23 adjacent to Hall 8 at the NEC, will be the first time the technology has been demonstrated in the UK and is designed to enable visitors to see for themselves the flawless moulded look which can be achieved when the edgeband is applied to board edges.

Representatives from REHAU, Homag and tools specialist Leitz will be giving presentations on the benefits of the laser welding process over conventional hot melt adhesive and it will be demonstrated live on the Homag stand in the centre of Hall 7.

Juergen Bloss, Technical Manager for REHAUs’ Furniture Products, said: “We want visitors to see how the finish which can be achieved with our new RAUKANTEX Laser Edge product raises the benchmark in terms of quality and design in this marketplace.

“Using laser edge technology, a perfect finish with no visible glue line can be achieved and we are confident that visitors will be wowed by the results.”

The laser welding process which will be demonstrated live uses a highly efficient laser to melt the lower polymer layer of a co-extruded RAUKANTEX Laser Edge edgeband which is then bonded seamlessly to the substrate eliminating the presence of a glue joint completely.

Visitors will be able to ask questions about the products, machinery and tools available and all three companies will be offering expert advice.

Samples of the new material will be available to take away as well as a complete information pack on this exciting new development from REHAU.
