Carbon leaders

Electrolux, together with its brands AEG -Electrolux and Zanussi, ranked as leaders in its sector in the first annual ranking of prominent brands sold in the UK and their ambitions to cut carbon.
The Brand Emissions Leadership project analyzed 600 brands available in the UK on a per sector basis. Electrolux, AEG-Electrolux, and Zanussi all snatched top positions as brand emissions leaders. They were recognized for efforts to reduce carbon emissions in factories and through products. Electrolux had the strongest reductions on both emissions intensity and absolute emissions reductions, and also the longest track record for reporting in the sector against these criteria.
“This ranking is an important indicator for Electrolux,” says Henrik Sundström, VP Sustainability Affairs. “Our priority to cut energy use in products and operations affects our brand reputation. This report has recognized that we have demonstrated leadership both in our target’s level of ambition, and that we intend to cut energy by 15% independent of production volume.”
“In future, carbon performance will be a differentiating factor for consumers. Rankings like this one tell us how we are performing against other ambitious consumer brands,” says Sundström.
The Brand Emissions Leadership ranking is published jointly by UK magazines Marketing, Brandrepublic, ENDS Carbon, the Carbon Disclosure Project, and the University of Edinburgh Business School.
